Introduction

My name is Lily Dirickson and I am the founder and instructor for Lily Pad Swim Lessons. I am an incoming sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania in the Wharton School of Business. Some things about me:

Been teaching swim lessons for 5 years
Been specializing on special needs swim lessons for 2 years
Former lifeguard for 3 years
Double Lifeguard Certified
Former Competitive Swimmer
Volunteer for children with special needs and physical differences in high school, through the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Special Needs Undergraduate Swim Lessons at University of Pennsylvania

About Lily Pad Swim Lessons

I decided to start this business 2 years ago after working as a lifeguard and I saw first hand the lack of swimming skills for children, especially special needs children, within our community. While a lot of children learn basic skills at other local swimming programs, they fail to learn many survival and traditional swimming skills. I wanted to create lessons that make a tangible and lasting difference in swimming abilities, and lessons that make all kids fall in love with the water, just like I did when I was a kid. I have a true passion for helping all types of kids, including those with special needs and physical differences, to make a difference in their lives, and I am so happy that Lily Pad Swim Lessons has given me the ability to do that.
